So, this pose was my favorite when my youngest Josie was born. It hangs on a 20×40 gallery wrap canvas over our bed. I adore it every time I see it. I’ve neglected this pose lately, so we brought it back for this session… and it turned out better than mine! I mean.. look at how cute the little peek a boo toes are!!

And check out his adorable little lips! Too cute.

What do you get with not only 1, but 2 photographers and a sleepy newborn?? Unbelievable pictures!! Brook Robinson (a local photog) came over this AM with her new little bundle, Lila Kate. I typically try to capture newborns within the first 2 weeks of life, but due to scheduling problems, Lila Kate came at 18 days old, but performed like a champ!! Brook and I got to try out lots of new poses and several props that I borrowed from yet another local photog (Amy Lantz of Dragonfly Studios). Thanks to you both Brook & Amy! :)

I have been waiting for some time to work with twins and I finally got the chance this week! How excited was I to meet the D twins!! Let me tell you, these little gals gave me a run for my money. One twin was sleepy and one twin was a firecracker that did not want to miss any bit of her photo shoots (yes, I said shoots… 2 attempts for sleepy babies!) Below is a mixture of session 1 and session 2. You will be able to tell which one is sleepy twin, but feisty little lady never slept! What you see below are eye blinks! :) Enjoy these cute little gals!

Meet Mr. S, a super cute and sleepy little man. This guy literally slept the entire session with a break or two from the action for a little snack… then… right back to sleep! Can I just say that I adore the sleepy ones? They make for excellent models! My favorite part of little Mr. [...]

Can I just say that I adore the sleepy ones? They make for excellent models! My favorite part of little Mr. S was his cute round belly. Welcome to the world little man! I look forward to watching you grow!

Don’t you just want to squish the cute belly?

I love this one… his smile is the cutest. This was my grandmother’s dough bowl that has been in my mother’s house for years. I’ve had my eye on it for quite some time and I finally got my hands on it Monday! Thanks Mom! Mr. S thought it was super cozy!

6 Day Old Sweet Baby J.. {Charlottesville Newborn Photography}

June 7th, 2009

I have been so excited to meet Mr. J. He is the newest addition to our neighborhood and the younger brother of one of my favorite models. We squeezed him in for a quick session on Thursday in my studio. I typically go to the baby’s home for newborn pics, but at mommy’s request, we [...]

We squeezed him in for a quick session on Thursday in my studio. I typically go to the baby’s home for newborn pics, but at mommy’s request, we held the session in my studio. I was excited to play with my lights at hand! Mr. J is one of the most chill babies that I have ever seen. I don’t think he cried once while here. He mostly just sat and took in all that there was to see and hear! You are a cutie pie Mr. J! His full head of hair is just too cute!

10 Days of Adorable! {Charlottesville Newborn Photography}

May 30th, 2009

I drove to Richmond yesterday to meet little Mr. G. He is a 10 day old cutie pie! I loved seeing how relaxed this family was given that this is baby #1. (So refreshing compared to the stress ball that I was with #1). Mr. G already has quite a personality: hates tummy & loves [...]

I drove to Richmond yesterday to meet little Mr. G. He is a 10 day old cutie pie! I loved seeing how relaxed this family was given that this is baby #1. (So refreshing compared to the stress ball that I was with #1). Mr. G already has quite a personality: hates tummy & loves really, really loud white noise (think Dyson beside the on full blast beside the crib). He is going to be a heart-breaker for sure!

On another note, I just got a Macro lens & am loving it. It is the perfect lens to get photos of all the little baby parts. Check out the close up of Mr. G. Adorableness!! I enjoyed meeting you Mr. G & look forward to our 6 month session!
