My Muse(s) {Crozet Child Photographer}

Finally made it out to use these adorable dresses from Sweet Tea for Kids!! I’ve only had them for over 2 months… given that they are Summer dresses, it was definitely time to give them a whirl. Glad my little beauties played along!

Fall family sessions are in full swing here in Charlottesville. I would say we about a week away from peak and it is so gorgeous here. It’s my favorite time to do sessions b/c the natural backdrop in this area in spectacular! I got to meet with this family last week and they brought the whole family along.. Dogs included. Lucky for me, they were great dogs and were naturals in front of the camera! Great to meet you “A” family.

At the end of my sessions, I always ask if there is anything else they want to do…. I’ll let you guess who wanted this shot!

Beautiful 2009 Baby Blog Contest {Vote For Your Favorite}

October 9th, 2009

So, last night I was rummaging through some files (that, of course, need to be filed) and ran across a certificate for a free 20×24 mounted print that expires 10/31. I won this certificate when I attended the Tot’s To Teens Seminar (by Sandy Puc) in Raleigh last Spring. I racked my brain all night [...]

So, last night I was rummaging through some files (that, of course, need to be filed) and ran across a certificate for a free 20×24 mounted print that expires 10/31. I won this certificate when I attended the Tot’s To Teens Seminar (by Sandy Puc) in Raleigh last Spring. I racked my brain all night trying to figure out what picture I would like.. Then, this morning I woke up and decided to give it away.

So here’s how it works: Vote for your favorite 2009 Angie Brement Photography Baby image. Voting will be open for 1 week (ending at 11:59 PM) on Friday, October 16th. There can only be 1 vote cast per IP address. Spread the work… tell friends, family & co-workers about the contest & have them vote for your child. Winner must let me know what print from their session that they would like by Oct. 25th. Prize value is $200. Good luck and thank you to all of my clients!

Summer Afternoon Fun! {Charlottesville Tween Photographer}

August 16th, 2009

I met with this beautiful young lady just before the start of my August hiatus! We’d been trying to get together for several months and finally got it to work out despite the sweltering heat of the afternoon in July. I love working with older “tweens” where I can pose and incorporate some of their [...]

We’d been trying to get together for several months and finally got it to work out despite the sweltering heat of the afternoon in July. I love working with older “tweens” where I can pose and incorporate some of their favorite activities into the session. As you can tell, this young lady is a cheerleader and dancer!

Family Vacation {Charlottesville Child Photographer}

July 9th, 2009

I got to meet with a great family vacationing at Wintergreen this week! I had met Little Miss M before, but it has been years since I have seen her! She has grown into a beautiful young lady and is so sweet. Mommy told me that she didn’t want her picture taken, but I wasn’t [...]

She has grown into a beautiful young lady and is so sweet. Mommy told me that she didn’t want her picture taken, but I wasn’t fooled… Miss M loved the camera. Little Miss S tried to do her best to warm up to me, but alas.. I think she thought I was a maniac (making monkey noises, jumping, tickling) with a camera! You are a cutie Miss S!!

Posed vs. Candid.. A Photographer’s Debate {Waynesboro Family Photographer}

June 22nd, 2009

I would have to say that about 60% of my clients ask for candid family shots, yet when placing an order only about 10% of the prints ordered are of candid shots. I think this is a struggle for most custom photographers, so what do I do? And especially, what do I do when Mom [...]

I would have to say that about 60% of my clients ask for candid family shots, yet when placing an order only about 10% of the prints ordered are of candid shots. I think this is a struggle for most custom photographers, so what do I do? And especially, what do I do when Mom wants posed and Dad wants candid.. Well, BOTH of course! :)

I debated back and forth about the title to this post. Option #2 was: 4 Kids and a Mommy. As you will see, Daddy was the biggest kid of them all! He did manage to struggle through the posed part of the session and then brought out the big guns for the candid moments! I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with you guys, H Family!! It was a blast!

So here we go! I’ll start with posed:

6 Day Old Sweet Baby J.. {Charlottesville Newborn Photography}

June 7th, 2009

I have been so excited to meet Mr. J. He is the newest addition to our neighborhood and the younger brother of one of my favorite models. We squeezed him in for a quick session on Thursday in my studio. I typically go to the baby’s home for newborn pics, but at mommy’s request, we [...]

We squeezed him in for a quick session on Thursday in my studio. I typically go to the baby’s home for newborn pics, but at mommy’s request, we held the session in my studio. I was excited to play with my lights at hand! Mr. J is one of the most chill babies that I have ever seen. I don’t think he cried once while here. He mostly just sat and took in all that there was to see and hear! You are a cutie pie Mr. J! His full head of hair is just too cute!

Mr. Blue Eyes.. {Charlottesville Baby Photographer}

June 5th, 2009

I got to meet with the cutest little 4 month old baby boy today. I would actually say he is more like a 6 month old… He is almost sitting (amazing!!) and has already found out how fun it is to play with his toes. With a little help, I was able to prop him up in a basket (without the help of a Bumbo, which I typically use at this age). Did I mention his eyes are to die for?? He is going to be a heartbreaker for sure! I’m so glad I broke out my green blanket for this shoot. I think the green really makes Mr. G’s eyes stand out! Thanks for all the smiles today Mr. Blue Eyes! I look forward to our 8 month session & watching you grow!
