Little Boy Blue {Charlottesville Child Photographer}

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

I have to say, there are some sessions that crack me up the whole time…. like this one from Saturday: 18 month old Mr. G. Mr. Big Blue Eyes did not like it when nothing was in his hands. As you can see below.. he either had trains, balls or best of all… a Little Einsteins video case, which became a pool toy! The video case got way more smiles that I did, so I’ve decided to dress up like June or Annie for my next session. I’m going to order the costume now!! Thanks for a fun AM Mr. G and for sharing some of the cuteness at the Old Trail pool too!

Charlottesville.. We Have a Runner {Charlottesville Family Photography}

Monday, May 17th, 2010

I admit.. 18 months to 3 years old is the hardest to photograph. Most of the time, they want nothing to do with any of this whole “photography thing.” Sometimes they hide. Sometimes they cling to Mommy. And sometimes they run. Little man “N” was a champion runner. I have to admit… 50% of the picture that I got of him on the UVA Lawn were of his back. Here is an example of one of our the 1st pics I took… Running with a bit of “Hold Me Mommy” mixed in.

With a little time.. they usually come around. If even for brief moments, I’m there to capture it. What Mr. N wanted most was to be thrown, tickled and sung to… so we all obliged! After some practice.. Mommy, Daddy and Photog perfected the “Throw, Tickle, Pause” technique. (I’m going to have to patent that one!) Thanks for letting me capture some final Charlottesville memories for you H Family. Good luck with new jobs and a new city!

Grandpa’s and Mommies and Seniors and Kiddos! Whew! {Charlottesville Family Photographer}

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

There are times when I just have 1 sleeping baby to shoot.. They are relaxing and basically stress free. Other times, I’m chasing a kiddo around for an hour capturing every funny face and all they joy they have. Then there are sessions where generations of family come together. I love these sessions. It’s fun to peek into the dynamic of another family as they come together for a family photo. There are always the clowns in each group. They keep everyone at ease. There is also the token kiddo.. who love to run out of the picture once everyone is settled for the group shot. Luckily.. I’ve been working out, so I can catch the runaways! Thanks “R” family! I enjoyed every moment!

This is my favorite from the session. Thought it deserved a special processing!

Camera Shy?? Not For Long {Charlottesville Family Photographer}

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

Sometimes (especially the 2 to 4 year old set) kids are dead set against getting their picture taken. They run away, hide behind trees, put their hoods on… you name it. They want nothing to do w/me or my camera. Especially, this little man. He hated every minute of it. Can’t you tell?

Actually.. he did not like this whole “photo” thing at 1st, but he came around… They always do. I try to bring some tricks up my sleeve… Just in case.

Oh the flip side, his little sister loved the camera. She’s a model in the making!

Springtime Weather + Great Models = The Perfect Session {Charlottesville Child Photographer}

Saturday, April 10th, 2010

If you don’t already know, I have another blog called C’Ville Entremom. It is a network of local Entrepreneur Moms. We have built a great community of women who work together to help grown and promote each other’s business. I met this family through the blog. Sharon wrote a piece for C’Ville Entremom called “A Well Pruned Life” back in November. I finally got to meet her and her great family today at UVA!! Miss J and Mr. C were so adorable and had the best spirit. I’m so excited to share these little cuties with you! I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!!

PS. I got so excited about my 1st Spring outdoor session that I went straight to the camera store after our session and treated myself to a new lens!! Look for some great new pics in the coming weeks!! :)

This one is hands down my favorite from the session!

My Girls! {Charlottesville Child Photographer}

Sunday, November 1st, 2009

Although it was Halloween yesterday, I decided to dress my girls up for Christmas and go out to take their Holiday pictures. An added bonus is that we had a bowl full of candy at home to use a bribery! This girls did pretty good considering Mommy was taking the pictures. Here are a few of my favorites from the session.
