“Back Away From The Cake”

Last weekend, I got to see another one of my sweet squishy newborns turn 1! I love seeing how much little ones grow throughout the year. You may remember Ava Katheryn.. she won cutest baby of 2009 on the blog! Ava’s party was held downtown at the Paramount Theater. It is such a beautiful venue. I never knew we had such a gem on the downtown mall! Little Ava enjoyed every minute of the limelight and the party was a blast. Thanks for letting me celebrate with you!

So, I admit.. I don’t usually like to post when I have a blog contest going on, but I just couldn’t help myself!!! This little man was just too adorable. He is part of my Baby’s 1st Year Plan, so I will get to see him again in a couple of months and I just can wait. PS.. He’s # 9 in the Beautiful Baby Contest below if you’d like to give this little cutie pie a vote! Thanks for letting me get the chance to watch Mr. G grow!

I am excited to announce that I have a new photography display up in Trailside Coffee (located in Old Trail Village in Crozet). I am showcasing 2 different ideas: {Baby As Art} featuring several Old Trail babies and {Old Trail Scenes}.. beautiful nature photography taken around Old Trail. You may remember cutie patootie Mr. C… he was the smiley little newborn that won my Summer 2008 photo contest! As a prize, his family won a free session & Mommy decided that his 1 year birthday would be the best time!

I really enjoyed watching Mr. C dig into his cake! He is a little spitfire that loves to make a mess… perfect for a cake smash session!!

We also took a little time to take some pics outdoors at my newest favorite location! Happy Birthday little man!

I love watching my newborn clients grow up!! Soon after Little Miss A’s newborn session in January, her mommy called me to set up a session for Spring when her brother and his family were in town.. The challenge: 6 month old (not yet sitting up), 1 year old (not yet walking) & 2 year old (all over the place) all together. I love a good challenge and to my amazement.. the kids did great! We tried to start out day at a scenic vineyard in Crozet, but that didn’t pan out so well for us. After some quick thinking, we moved the shoot to the Old Trail clubhouse! I had never done a shoot there & it was perfect and the staff was very gracious! How cute are these little ones? They all have amazing eyes!

I decided to do Josie’s 1 year cake session a bit early so that I could use the pictures for her party invitation! She loved every minute of it! For once, I let her dive into something & actually encouraged it! Just an FYI, I offer 1 year old cake smash mini-sessions! Here are the details:
