Sunday, October 11th, 2009

So, I admit.. I don’t usually like to post when I have a blog contest going on, but I just couldn’t help myself!!! This little man was just too adorable. He is part of my Baby’s 1st Year Plan, so I will get to see him again in a couple of months and I just can wait. PS.. He’s # 9 in the Beautiful Baby Contest below if you’d like to give this little cutie pie a vote! Thanks for letting me get the chance to watch Mr. G grow!

Sweet Newborn & A Photography Hiatus!

Monday, July 27th, 2009

Got to meet this sweet little girl last week. She was 1 week old and quite a sleeper! It made for some amazing pics! Congrats Mom & Dad.. I enjoyed meeting you.

On another note, my life is a bit crazy and I need a little break to reorganize! I will be taking the month of August off from photographing clients. After that, my space will be greatly limited for Fall (3 to 4 open slots per month), so if you are interested in a session, please book ASAP to ensure your spot for Holiday cards. The sessions going forward will be weekend only.

Here is cutie Miss M’s sneak peek!

A Random Sampling of NC! Part 1 {Charlottesville Child Photography}

Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

After several requests and the urging from friends, I decided to head down to my home state of North Carolina to hold a couple of photography sessions. Several of my fellow photographer friends down in NC recommended the Duke Gardens (on the Duke University campus) as a wonderful place to hold sessions! Let me just tell you.. the gardens were breath-taking! I swear I must have run into atleast 15 photographers there.. photographing anything from plants to wildlife to weddings! In there midst of all the other sessions, as well as garden visitors, I had a beautiful (& muggy) day of sessions! It was great to catch up with some old friends as well as make some new ones! Thanks to everyone that came out. I enjoyed working with all of you!

First up.. busy Mr. T! This little man was a nature lover. He had a blast chasing rabbits & ducks!

The other great news… he is going to be a big brother!

During my 2nd session, I got to catch up with a UNC friend of mine! She has two totally cute little boys who cracked me up the whole time. They were so happy to hug and show off for the camera. Mr. J, despite having a broken arm, brought his A game. On a side note, sometimes I do pull out potty humor to get smiles from little ones.. most of the time it works, but Mr. J informed me that I was using potty words and that isn’t nice! This little man totally cracks me up! I think he made me smile more that I made him smile!

For my 3rd session, I got a little break in that I didn’t have to chase any kids around. I did a “love shoot” for another friend of mine from UNC. She actually got married last year, but I missed the wedding b/c I had just had Josie! It was fun to hang out with my friend and her husband & I enjoyed getting to see another side to their relationship!

Introducing the Baby’s First Year Program {Charlottesville Newborn Photography}

Tuesday, March 17th, 2009

I am very excited to announce our new Baby’s First Year Program. Babies change so much throughout their 1st year, so why not capture the smiles, the fat rolls & the milestones?

This program includes 3 sessions to take place during your baby’s 1st year of life. Total cost is $400 & includes a custom 10×20 storyboard with photos or your choice from any of the 3 sessions. Also as an added bonus, you can add on a maternity session for $100 more.

1. Newborn or 3 Month Session.. The best time to capture all of the little details of your baby. It’s also a great chance to capture the bonding moments b/t you and your baby.

2. 6 Month Session.. Baby will be sitting, smiling & full of excitement to share.

3. 1 Year Old Session… Baby will be moving around & exploring the world. This is the perfect opportunity to capture that developing personality or even celebrate with a 1st Birthday Cake Smash.

A Springtime Day! {Charlottesville Child Photography}

Monday, March 16th, 2009

I met with Little Miss J & Mr J a week ago when there was actually nice weather! (I am anxiously awaiting the return of this nice weather as I sit here & watch the rain come down.) Anyway, going into this session, I was told that Mr. J preferred showing off his smooth basketball and football moves more than dressing up for formal pictures. I prefer for children to be in their element vs. a forced dressed up look. My photography is about creating natural memories, so that you can hold onto your child’s real personality. Therefore, we decided to let Mr. J wear his jerseys & carry around his favorite things.. a basketball & football. I not only ended up w/great actions shots, but a couple of happy posed ones as well. It’s all about the balance & getting in what the child wants as well. On the other hand, Miss J. loves dressing up & loves modeling. She loved trying out different poses “working” with the camera!

This client (and friend) did a write up on the session on her blog. Check it out if you get a chance:
