Finally made it out to use these adorable dresses from Sweet Tea for Kids!! I’ve only had them for over 2 months… given that they are Summer dresses, it was definitely time to give them a whirl. Glad my little beauties played along!

Also, we are all moved into our new house and still getting settled. To celebrate, we are leaving for Cancun in just over a week!! Once I’m back, I’ll be getting back into the swing of things w/my photography. I’ve really missed it over the past couple of months, but am eager to start up in full swing for Fall sessions. I took this pic of my daughter at King Family Vineyards on Sunday while we had a picnic with some friends. I just loved it and wanted to share. This is not our dog.. it was a very friendly dog that entertained my daughter for quite some time. I’m loving these warm weekends and am so ready for Spring!!

In other exciting news, we are just about a month away from moving into our new house! This has been consuming many weekends for me and will continue to do so until May-ish… then hopefully I’ll get back on track and taking more pics! Here’s a little house preview! I’ll post more pics once we are in! Did I mention we have a fab (and handsome!) builder?? I have a crush on him!

This is an obvious pick for #1. Really.. how often is a celebrity in town that not only comes up to pose for pics, but also places an order? (One of my favorite moments of 2010.. just ask my family). Thx Alecia (P!nk) and Carey!

#2 I just love this one! 5 year old boy lays still for this! Amazing!

#4 I adore this maternity pic. It may be my favorite that I’ve taken to date. They look so happy here!

I just finished a session w/2 girls that I photograph every year and realized… Wow, this is the 4th Fall in a row that I’ve done a session w/them. To be honest.. their Mom is one of my BFF’s, but 4 years ago, she was just an neighbor that knew I dabbled in photography and asked me if I’d like to practice on her kids. I was by no means a professional at this time.. but the passion had started. I thought it would be fun to post shots from each session. Needless to say… I think we’ve all grown quite a bit.

Note: A didn’t go back and re-edit the pictures. I only watermarked the older ones.

2007:

Notes and critique.. These would have been taken w/my entry level DSLR.. A Nikon D40. I had owned the camera for a little under a year, so looking back… a good start huh? Super cute kids… maybe a little too much orange from me. Oh and I spent hours whiting out the background (white balance on the D40 was a little lacking).

2008:

Notes: 2008.. the year I feared orange and made everyone look pale (as they are here). Girls still super cute. These images were taken at the end of my Portfolio Building stage… I was about to go Pro. These images were taken w/a Nikon D80 and probably my 85mm 1.8.

2009:

Notes: Girls are too cute, no? I had upgraded to a Nikon D300 by this time. Again, probably taken with my 85mm 1.8. Still pretty true to my current style.

2010:

Notes: All perfect no?? Taken w/my D300 & 50 1.4mm lens combo. My favorite!

I want to add a special thank you the Mom of these lovely ladies, DeAnna Robertson, who has supported me and encouraged my photography for the past 4 years. You are a true and rare kind of friend. Love you!

Well, we are finally digging out from our couped up, snowed in lifestyle! I saw the days inside as an opportunity to break out the camera and get some pictures of my girls. They often get ignored by the camera when I’m busy doing other sessions, so what a perfect time! I feel so blessed to have 2 wonderful and delightful little girls. I need to make it a point to photograph them more while they are so young! Enjoy!
