Join us once again for our annual Pictures With Santa on Saturday, December 3rd from 10 – 2 at Trailside Coffee in Old Trail Village in Crozet. The big man will roll into Old Trail and me makes his journey back North to get ready for Christmas! Pop by and say hello to the Jolly Old Man!

This event helps to collect toys and raise money for Toy Lift (www.kidslift.org). Please bring a new unwrapped toy or a suggested donation of $20 to help make many local children’s holiday wishes come true.

I look forward to seeing everyone!! A big thank you to Marcia McGee for hosting this great event once again.

Investment: $200 (Includes 25 minute session, 5-10 online proofs to choose from and 2 digital files to use for Holiday Cards).

Details: Each session will last 25 minutes. Within 2 to 3 weeks, I will post an online gallery of 5-10 pictures to choose from. You can choose 2 digital files that will be sent to you. Great for Holiday gifts and Holiday cards. Please limit session to immediate family only (up to 5 members). $100 deposit due w/in 1 week of booking. I have several people waiting for this, so spots may fill quickly. Spots will be 1st come, 1st serve. Looking forward to it!!

I’ve been working on this for over a year now and finally feel that I am at the point that I can finally put this together (I’ll be moved into the new house and settled in, whew!). I’ve been asked by several people that are new to DSLR photography to put together a workshop.. a basic “How to take better pictures of my kids.” Well C’Ville (and surrounding areas) here it is.. Drum roll:

This class is geared towards those that are new to owning a DSLR and want to make it more than a point and shoot camera. It will involve some “classroom” time as well as some shooting time on the downtown mall. Look for some fun giveaways and goodies coming soon! A Day With Santa {Giving Back}

First of all, I would like to send out a Big THANK YOU to everyone that came out to participate in the Santa Event yesterday at Trailside Coffee. We managed to raise $413 and collect 26 toys for the area Toy Lift. Another big THANK YOU goes out to Marcia McGee at Trailside Coffee for hosting such a great event, Andrea Sarate for helping us pull this together and my neighbor and helper elf, Hannah, for her behind the scenes work! We managed to make the event bigger than 2009!! One of the best moments of the day was taking my daughter with me to drop off the gifts and money… The volunteers at the Toy Lift center were so excited to receive this donation and it was very heart warming. They were most excited for the money, so they could go “buy more toys!!”

Pictures w/Santa is by far one of my favorite events of the year. I love seeing all the children w/Santa.. some are so excited to run up and tell Santa what they want for Christmas, some are scared to death of him, some really don’t know what to think and some spend a little extra time warming up to him. It is somewhat predictable… the 18-30 month olds typically cry and the K – 2nd grade set love him! Here are some of my favorites from the day:

Last weekend, I got to attend and be a part of one of the most beautiful weddings I’ve ever attended. Perfectly dubbed “Love Fest,” Clare Turton and Justin Derrico exchanged vows at his family farm in beautiful Western Albemarle County. I was excited to be asked to break out the photo booth for this event… packed full of dancers and musicians who were more than willing to have some fun in the booth. Congrats to you guys! Thank you for letting me be a part of your day!

Ava Kathryn Is 1! {Charlottesville Event Photographer}

You may remember Ava Katheryn.. she won cutest baby of 2009 on the blog! Ava’s party was held downtown at the Paramount Theater. It is such a beautiful venue. I never knew we had such a gem on the downtown mall! Little Ava enjoyed every minute of the limelight and the party was a blast. Thanks for letting me celebrate with you!
