I would have to say that about 60% of my clients ask for candid family shots, yet when placing an order only about 10% of the prints ordered are of candid shots. I think this is a struggle for most custom photographers, so what do I do? And especially, what do I do when Mom wants posed and Dad wants candid.. Well, BOTH of course! 
I debated back and forth about the title to this post. Option #2 was: 4 Kids and a Mommy. As you will see, Daddy was the biggest kid of them all! He did manage to struggle through the posed part of the session and then brought out the big guns for the candid moments! I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with you guys, H Family!! It was a blast!

Great pictures. Really loved Alec in the hammock. Looks like an all-American boy doing what boys do best (finding trouble). Was Travis hamming up his expression when Brinkley pushed him into the pool or was that a candid shot? Would love to see all the shots sometime.

What beautiful pictures. I see I am not the only one that has good looking children and grandchildren. It sorta makes me feel old. I can remember when Tracey was that age and my daughter babysat her. As for posed v. candid, I prefer the posed. Anyone can take candid pictures, but it takes a knack to get everyone to look good in a posed picture.
Yay! I am grateful that friends are hiring great photographers outside of Colorado. This makes me happy in my heart!

From a photographer stand point, I am all about the candids. Yet, I have learned that I also need to do a few posed as well. Silly Mothers seem to demand at least one shot of people looking at the camera.
My note to the Angie: Wow! Great work. I love the post processing. Capturing the action shots into the pool is no easy task, and you executed them perfectly. The first pool shot is my favorite from the session. You really captured the essence of Travis. I love it. I like the eye sparkle in #3. Well done!
