10 Days of Adorable! {Charlottesville Newborn Photography}

May 30th, 2009

I drove to Richmond yesterday to meet little Mr. G. He is a 10 day old cutie pie! I loved seeing how relaxed this family was given that this is baby #1. (So refreshing compared to the stress ball that I was with #1). Mr. G already has quite a personality: hates tummy & loves [...]

(So refreshing compared to the stress ball that I was with #1). Mr. G already has quite a personality: hates tummy & loves really, really loud white noise (think Dyson beside the on full blast beside the crib). He is going to be a heart-breaker for sure!

On another note, I just got a Macro lens & am loving it. It is the perfect lens to get photos of all the little baby parts. Check out the close up of Mr. G. Adorableness!! I enjoyed meeting you Mr. G & look forward to our 6 month session!

A Relative Playdate {Charlottesville Child Photographer}

I love watching my newborn clients grow up!! Soon after Little Miss A’s newborn session in January, her mommy called me to set up a session for Spring when her brother and his family were in town.. The challenge: 6 month old (not yet sitting up), 1 year old (not yet walking) & 2 year [...]

I love watching my newborn clients grow up!! Soon after Little Miss A’s newborn session in January, her mommy called me to set up a session for Spring when her brother and his family were in town.. The challenge: 6 month old (not yet sitting up), 1 year old (not yet walking) & 2 year old (all over the place) all together. I love a good challenge and to my amazement.. the kids did great! We tried to start out day at a scenic vineyard in Crozet, but that didn’t pan out so well for us. After some quick thinking, we moved the shoot to the Old Trail clubhouse! I had never done a shoot there & it was perfect and the staff was very gracious! How cute are these little ones? They all have amazing eyes!

For session #4 on Saturday, I went to a friend’s home. She has a 1 month old, who I just didn’t think would enjoy Duke Gardens as much as the other families I met with. Little Miss S is such a sweet little baby. She even did some sleeping for us so that we could [...]

Little Miss S is such a sweet little baby. She even did some sleeping for us so that we could get some semi-newborn shots. Big brother Mr. D was as busy as usual! He showed off his soccer skills in the back yard for me!

On Sunday, I got together with an old friend.. from both high school and college. She had the most precious little girl. Miss C is a spitfire! I seriously had trouble keeping up with her. As an added bonus, she provided me with my workout for the day. We met a one of the most beautiful houses I’ve ever seen! The landscaping was to die for!

After several requests and the urging from friends, I decided to head down to my home state of North Carolina to hold a couple of photography sessions. Several of my fellow photographer friends down in NC recommended the Duke Gardens (on the Duke University campus) as a wonderful place to hold sessions! Let me just tell you.. the gardens were breath-taking! I swear I must have run into atleast 15 photographers there.. photographing anything from plants to wildlife to weddings! In there midst of all the other sessions, as well as garden visitors, I had a beautiful (& muggy) day of sessions! It was great to catch up with some old friends as well as make some new ones! Thanks to everyone that came out. I enjoyed working with all of you!

First up.. busy Mr. T! This little man was a nature lover. He had a blast chasing rabbits & ducks!

The other great news… he is going to be a big brother!

During my 2nd session, I got to catch up with a UNC friend of mine! She has two totally cute little boys who cracked me up the whole time. They were so happy to hug and show off for the camera. Mr. J, despite having a broken arm, brought his A game. On a side note, sometimes I do pull out potty humor to get smiles from little ones.. most of the time it works, but Mr. J informed me that I was using potty words and that isn’t nice! This little man totally cracks me up! I think he made me smile more that I made him smile!

For my 3rd session, I got a little break in that I didn’t have to chase any kids around. I did a “love shoot” for another friend of mine from UNC. She actually got married last year, but I missed the wedding b/c I had just had Josie! It was fun to hang out with my friend and her husband & I enjoyed getting to see another side to their relationship!

Mommy said that she hadn’t done pictures since she was 2, but you would never know! I would’ve bet that she does this all the time! She also showed up in Matilda Jane… my favorite place to find awesome little girl dresses. Little Miss C didn’t quite know what to make of all the excitement, but she gave us some cute poses anyway! Glad to meet you M family!

And, a little peek at the wedding. They had the fabulous ladies from White Box Weddings there to shoot the wedding & I can’t wait to see their pics! I had to keep Josie from running into the water for most of the night, but I did find a little time for a couple of pics!
